In my last post I wrote that I loved LDS Story Makers. I had written this in hopes of winning a contest that will let me sit at the VIP table. Oh, and update on that contest: I WON!! I took third place, which lets me sit at the table but I don't get any critiquing from those VIPs. I'm fine with that. In fact, I'm ecstatic! I'm really looking forward to this opportunity.
So now that the contest is over, I thought I'd let you know how I really feel about LDS Story Makers. After all, I wrote my little love-fest all to win a silly contest, right?
Wrong!
Every word I wrote is true. I really did have a blast at Story Makers last year. It was seriously one of the highlights of my year in 2011. I would also consider it a crucial turning point in my writing. It was inspiring and the people I have become friends with since last May has made a positive impact in my life. Both in my writing and my personal life.
I saw an update on Facebook the other day: there are only 50 spots available for each day. So if you've been waiting for the last minute to sign up then, guess what, THIS IS THE LAST MINUTE! Hurry, sign up. I'd love to run into followers at the conference.
I've got a lot to do to get ready for the event. I'm getting back to it! Don't forget to sign up if you haven't already.

Showing my love for LDS Story Makers
Last year I attended my first writing conference. I'll admit, the only reason I wanted to go was to meet Brandon Sanderson. Two ironies happened: 1) Brandon never showed up and 2) I love, love, LOVED the event nonetheless.
Since then, I've attended LTUE, as I blogged about last week. I loved that as well. But my love affair with writing conferences all started with LDS Story Makers. And as much as I loved LTUE, I must admit that I loved Story Makers more. Yes, I say that unabashedly and you can quote me on that! I am sooooo looking forward to next year and I think I'll get even more out of it this time around now that I know what to expect, whether Brandon Sanderson shows up or not.

When tickets went on sale, I awoke early to make sure I got a ticket before they sold out. Silly me, they still haven't (but they are getting close). But there was no way I would leave that up to chance. If we get numbers like in a race, my race number would probably be a single digit.

An Update
I'm sorry my blogging came to a sudden halt late last year. I got some advise on how to make my blog better and -- I hate to admit this -- I got intimidated by how much improvement I need to do.
I did need to make that post on LTUE, it seemed too good NOT to blog. And since I had highly suggested Variant, I thought the book review would be good when I had finished it. Otherwise, I've been a bit gun shy to get things going again. I've got to tell you, making this blog post was a stretch.
That said, I have no intention of giving this up. I am here for the long haul, though there may be some changes to come. Please pardon the dust as the changes get implemented. After everything is redone, I'll probably kick things off again with something exciting. Yep, fun and crazy, that is how I roll!!
The first weekend of May is LDS Story Makers. Don't be surprised if everything I post for the next two months makes reference to it. I have some pretty hefty goals I'd like to meet by then. Getting the blog kicked off again is one of them. Getting some serious progress on my book is another. LTUE has pushed me ahead and given me a lot of inspiration. I have other goals, but I thought I'd share a couple of them with you.
